HEADWATERS
is an electronic music duo of the two friends, Engin Ozbatir and Onur Okutan from Izmir.
In 2010, Engin’s interest in electronic music awoke. After he attended many local and foreign acts at the “1888-Nightclub” in Izmir, he became a resident DJ at the same club.
Onur has started his performing career by playing guitar at his early ages and carried on his passion by composing his own songs.
Throughout his studies he had the chance to improve his skills and became a multi instrumentalist. He now focusses playing the piano, violoncello and trumpet.
In recent years, as he has shifted his productivity to electronic music, by the inspiration drawn from the infinity of sounds used during their production process. Besides his musical education is also deeply involved in the field of audio engineering.
Headwaters is an organic combination of the musical skills of Onur and wide electronic music experience of Engin.
